Fall 2026 Driver Education Program

Dear Parents and Guardians of Juniors and Seniors,
Babylon Junior-Senior High School is pleased to offer the Fall 2026 Driver Education Program, certified by the New York State Education Department. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive DMV certification through the MV-285 Student Certificate of Completion, which may allow students to obtain a Senior Driver's License at age 17 and may qualify them for insurance discounts, depending on their carrier. Students may also receive an MV-278 Pre-Licensing Course Completion Certificate if they plan to schedule a road test before completing the course.
Course Dates
September 14, 2026 through January 15, 2027
Lecture Class
Mondays from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM with Mr. Morra. All students will attend the same lecture class.
Driving Classes
Administered by Fitzgerald Driving School and scheduled according to birthdate order. Students will select their preferred driving times on the enrollment form.
Eligibility
Students must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid learner's permit at the time of registration.
Cost
$600.00 payable by check or money order to Babylon High School Driver Education.
Enrollment Deadline
Completed enrollment forms and payment must be submitted to the Attendance Office no later than 1:30 PM on Friday, August 28, 2026. Enrollment forms may be handed in on weekdays between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

Important Information
- Enrollment is limited and students will be selected by birthdate, with the oldest students receiving priority.
- Please carefully rank your driving time preferences on the enrollment form.
- If a student cannot be placed in any of their selected driving sessions, payment will be returned.
- Attendance is mandatory, as New York State requires a minimum of 24 hours of classroom instruction and 24 hours of in-car instruction for certification.
