The college admissions process is driven by deadlines! Please keep this in mind as you start to look at schools. To make sure schools receive your information in a timely fashion, all Counseling Center forms must be turned in no later than two weeks before your application deadline.
Regular Decision is just that. Deadlines are usually December 15th, January 1st, January 15th, February 1st ... Colleges notify you by early April of their decision. Rolling Admission means that a school considers your application and gives you a decision about 3-4 weeks after your application is complete. The sooner you apply, the better.
Early Action has an early deadline, usually November 1st or 15th, however, they will give you an admissions decision (usually) before winter break. Early action decisions are NON-BINDING.
Early Decision is BINDING! These deadlines are usually November 1st or 15th. The advantage to applying ED is that some schools accept a large number of students from this small applicant pool. To apply ED, the school must be your FIRST CHOICE and you must have visited the campus. If you are accepted ED, you must withdraw all other college appli-cations. (This does not allow you to compare financial aid packages.)
