Babylon Community Joins Forces to Help a Student in Need
Members of the Babylon Junior-Senior High School Class of 2027 teamed up with local nonprofit Babylon Strong to host a Color Run fundraiser in support of their younger peer, Luciano, a 7th grader at the school who is battling leukemia.
The event drew a strong showing of community support, with more than 150 participants. Commemorative t-shirts were created for the occasion, though, as is tradition with a color run, the shirts quickly took on a more psychedelic hue as onlookers showered runners with brightly colored powder.
Luciano's mother was in attendance, alongside representatives from Babylon Strong, the mayor, teachers, and student volunteers, all coming together to show solidarity for the seventh grader and his family.
All proceeds from the run were donated via Babylon Strong directly to Luciano and his family to help with ongoing needs.
