Babylon Schools Hold Superintendent’s Conference Day
The Babylon Union Free School District welcomed its faculty and staff back for the new school year with two days of professional development, collaboration, and celebration during its annual Superintendent’s Conference Days on September 2 and 3.
The first day began with a welcome back breakfast and an all-staff meeting in Rowe Hall at Babylon Junior-Senior High School. Superintendent of Schools Carisa Manza, opened the session with an address titled, “We Rise by Lifting Others,” setting a collaborative and supportive tone for the year ahead.
A highlight of the morning was the introduction of over 20 new teachers and staff members joining the district for the 2025-2026 school year. The district also took time to recognize the outstanding contributions of longtime staff by presenting annual recognition awards for their years of service to the district and its students.
The agenda featured an entertaining keynote address by motivational speaker Wayne Lee, followed by afternoon sessions focused on reviewing various curriculum initiatives. The Babylon Teachers Association (BTA) provided lunch for all staff.
Day two of the conference was dedicated to building-level faculty meetings and providing teachers with essential preparation time in their classrooms to finalize plans for the first day of school.
