Babylon Memorial Grade School celebrated its annual Veterans Day ceremony on November 8, honoring those who have served or continue to serve in the United States armed forces. This cherished tradition invites local Babylon veterans to be recognized by the school community.
Students dressed in red, white, and blue to show their patriotism, and the event featured poetry readings acknowledging the sacrifices of U.S. soldiers. A sing-along included songs such as “Fifty Nifty,” “Armed Forces Medley,” and “Livin’ in the USA.” A white table ceremony was also held during the assembly to honor soldiers who are missing in action or have been captured.
Following the assembly, veterans and their families were treated to a breakfast in the school library. “The Babylon Memorial Grade School community is always proud to honor our veterans,” said Principal Lauren Fretto. “They have given so much to support and protect our country, and this annual tradition is just one of the ways we recognize those sacrifices.”
