Three BHS Student-Musicians Selected for NYSCAME Festival

Posted Date: 9/26/24 (2:28 PM)

Three Babylon Junior-Senior High School student-musicians were recently selected to participate in the Suffolk County chapter of the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education (NYSCAME) All-County Festival this November. This selection recognizes their hard work and talent in their respective musical fields.

Singers Brady Cuneen and Allie Manetta were chosen for the Mixed Chorus, and Nathaniel Schubart was selected for the Division IV Band. The students were chosen based on their NYSSMA scores and recommendations from their music teachers.

The NYSCAME High School All-County Festival is an annual event held across New York State. The Suffolk County chapter, hosted by the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association (SCMEA), honors students who have demonstrated musical excellence. In selecting students, teachers consider various factors, including NYSSMA solo scores, work ethic, and dedication.

"Congratulations to Brady, Allie, and Nathaniel for this great honor," said Director of Fine and Performing Arts Cheryl Schweider. "This selection is a testament to their dedication and passion for music, and it is certainly well deserved."
