Members of the Babylon Board of Education toured the District’s facilities to assess their readiness ahead of the 2024-2025 school year. On August 29, Babylon’s Director of Facilities, Rob Lorefice, along with Superintendent of Schools Carisa Manza and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Jeffrey Haubrich, led BoE President Linda Jurs and Vice President Donna Noesi through the buildings and grounds that will soon be populated by Babylon’s students.
Throughout the summer, Lorefice and his team have been hard at work preparing the hallways, classrooms, and fields at Babylon Elementary School, Babylon Memorial Grade School, and Babylon Junior-Senior High School, performing renovations, updating technology, and ensuring the school facilities are well-prepared for the return of students. The District officials and Board members were pleased with the progress, and commended the facilities team’s efforts.
“We pride ourselves on keeping Babylon’s school grounds and facilities clean and well-maintained,” Lorefice said. “When students and staff have access to well-kept spaces, it fosters pride in the school community and enhances the overall educational experience."
