School Policies Overview:

School Safety – Our Top Priority
·      This year, we have made several upgrades to ensure our school remains a safe environment for all. We ask all students and staff to take an active role in maintaining our safety standards. Remember, if you see something, say something. Your vigilance is crucial.

ID Cards:
Please take a moment to ensure you have your student ID ready for the start of the school year. If your ID has been lost or you need a replacement, we will be offering student ID replacement sessions during the week of August 26 to August 30. You can visit us at the main entrance (flag circle) between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM on any of these dates to have your photo taken and receive your new ID. This will help expedite the process and ensure that all students are prepared with their IDs on the first day of school.

Attendance – Being Present and On Time Matters
Attendance is key to your success.
·      Missing class or arriving late not only affects your learning but can also lead to consequences, including the revocation of extracurricular privileges.
·      Let’s work together to ensure everyone is here, on time, and ready to learn.

Cell Phones and Social Media – Focus on Learning and Relationships
·      In an effort to maintain a positive and productive learning environment, we remind students that cellphones and social media have no place during school hours.
·      With our 1:1 device program, there’s no need for personal devices during class time.
·      This year, we encourage everyone to focus on face-to-face communication, building strong relationships, and practicing kindness.
·      Let’s make our school a place where everyone feels they belong.
proud
P.R.O.U.D. Panther Initiative:
At Babylon Junior-Senior High School, we are committed to creating an environment where students thrive and reach their full potential. Our P.R.O.U.D Panther Initiative embodies the core values of being Patient, Respectful, Optimistic, Upstanding, and Determined. These values guide us in setting high expectations and maintaining a culture of respect, responsibility, and growth.
Our commitment is clear:
  • High Expectations: We expect our students to engage fully in their academic and extracurricular activities, taking pride in their work and achievements. The P.R.O.U.D. Panther Initiative encourages our students to be their best.
  • Accountability: We hold our students accountable for their behavior and choices, focusing on teaching responsibility and fostering a positive school culture.
  • Support: Our dedicated professional learning community is here to support every student’s transition and journey through high school.
At Babylon Junior-Senior High School, we stand united against any behavior that jeopardizes the well-being of our students or the integrity of our learning community.
A Message from the Principals:
As we prepare to embark on a new school year, we want to share some important expectations and values that will guide us in the coming months. Our focus this year is on building a stronger, more cohesive community where every student and staff member feels supported and empowered to succeed.

Teamwork and Cohesiveness
We are all part of a team working towards the common good of our school. Success is not achieved alone but through collaboration and mutual respect. Let’s create a positive and productive environment where everyone thrives.

Lateness and Attendance
This year, we will be stricter in monitoring and addressing lateness and attendance. Being on time and present is crucial for your academic success and the success of your classmates. Let’s make it a priority to be where we need to be when we need to be there.

Cell Phone Use
For students in grades 7 and 8, there will be no cell phone use during the school day. For grades 9-12, phones are permitted only in the cafeteria during lunch. If phone use becomes a problem, please seek help—our staff is here to support you.

Positive Environment
Above all, let’s commit to staying positive, uplifting one another, and being kind. A single act of kindness can have a ripple effect throughout our community. It’s not just about what we achieve individually, but how we help others along the way.

Embracing New Beginnings:
August is a season of transition—a time for final summer memories and preparing for the exciting journey ahead. We eagerly anticipate the return of our students, bringing joy and energy back to our halls. A warm welcome to the seventh graders (Class of 2030!) joining us; we are excited to see the wonderful contributions you’ll make to our school community.
And a special shout-out to the Class of 2025—this is your year to shine, and it will be filled with amazing memories.
As we embark on another year together, think about the positive impact you can make on our school and community. How can you show kindness to others? What clubs and activities will you join to forge new connections? What can you do to help BHS be the best place to be?
We look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and shared success. Let’s make it a great one!

Best regards,
