Curriculum/Grading

  • Class purpose:

    To help support students’ academics as well as work on individualized IEP goals. In addition to working on core subjects, we also work on study skills, organizational skills and technology skills. This class offers the chance to re-teach and/or pre-teach lessons and clarify any questions and concerns that may come up throughout the school day.

    Grading Policy:

    Non graded class

  • Course Description/Topics Covered:

    The Topics covered will range from Ancient Civillization to the Age of Discovery.  There will be an emphacis on critical thinking, reading, writing, map/graph interpretation and analysis of historical documents.  This course will culminate in a Final Exam.

    Grading Policy:

    Major Assignments (Tests/Quizzes):60%

    Minor Assignments (participation/homework): 40%

     

    Homework Policy:

    Students will have a unit homework packet. There is a unit calendar

    handed out at the beginning of each unit with a specific homework

    due date. Homework will not be accepted after the unit test. Each

    day its late, the student will lose 10% off their homework

    assignment.
